Dancing the Song is a beautifully written story about Beka, a young man experiencing the song of life. It is a song of joy and of pain – with laughter and with tears. Beka savours the ecstasy of love, only to be confronted by the agony of reality. Every song has a rhythm, and the rhythm a dance. This the story of one man struggling to dance in accordance with the rhythm of his song.
Khalfan Kasu (Kuntakite) was born in 1948. He schooled in Kenya and (the then) Tanganyika. He worked as a bank clerk in Mombasa for five years before quitting to join the University of Nairobi where he graduated in Linguistics and Literature in 1978. He later worked as an editor with Longman Publishers, East African Publishing House(EAPH), Oxford University Press and Phoeniz Publishers. he has also done projects for Macmillan, Heinemann, East African Educational Publishers (EAEP), GTZ, the UN and other organizations.
