Spirit Of The Rainbow Dragon

When Mumbi the village beauty disappears in the Mount Kenya forest everybody fears the worst for her. The forest is said to be in the grip of a dangerous drug running syndicate. The villagers’ appeal to the local chief for assistance is met with indifference. But things take a dramatic turn when fourteen-year-old Mwenda and Karoki who are in the forest exploring the famous Mau Mau caves run into Mumbi who has been kidnapped.

About The Author

Goro Wa Kamau

Goro wa Kamau was born in Kahuhia, Murang’a County. His young adult novel ‘Ghost and The Fortune Hunters’ won the Burt Award for African Literature(2016) and the Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature(2017). He has also authored several children’s books. His short stories have appeared in anthologies such as ‘When the Sun Goes Down and Other Stories’ from Africa and Beyond, ‘The Cry of the Crow and other Stories’ and ‘Kosa La Nani? na Hadithi Nyingine’. His most recent novel ‘Beyond the Shadow'(Oxford, 2018) tells the story of mental illness and a teenage girl’s frightful encounter with a serial killer she meets on social media…
